My GPU sag bracket cracked at 2am, nearly took the whole card with it

Built a new rig last night in Austin, and my cheap acrylic support bracket snapped right under the 4080 Super around 2am. Heard a pop and the card drooped so bad the PCIe latch was straining. Lucked out that the case was horizontal while I checked, but now I'm wondering if a vertical mount kit is worth the $60. Has anyone else had a bracket fail and just run the card stock instead?

Dowel rod and a ziptie held mine for two years, zero sag, costs like four bucks.
