My cheap riser cable finally gave out mid-benchmark, now I always test them first

I had a $15 riser that worked fine for four months until it started throwing PCIe errors on Friday during a Cinebench run. Swapped in a spare I'd never touched and it booted first try, so now I test every cable at stock speed before trusting it in a build. Anyone else dealt with riser failures that were fine one day and dead the next?
