My cable management went from zip-tie chaos to fully modular in one year
I used to just jam all my PSU cables into the back panel and hope the side closed, but after building my third PC last January I finally bought a set of velcro straps and some combs for $12. That simple switch made airflow way better and cut my GPU temps by about 5 degrees during heavy gaming sessions. Have you guys found a cheap upgrade like that that made a big difference in your builds?

Your GPU temps dropping 5 degrees from just cable management is more likely from improved airflow through the case overall than the cables themselves. Those PSU cables can block a surprising amount of air if they're bunched up against the PSU shroud or right in front of a fan. I did the same thing with some cheap cable combs and noticed my CPU cooler was running quieter because it wasn't fighting against a wall of tangled wires. The velcro straps are key though, I use the reusable kind so I can move stuff around when I swap parts.

Wait, cable management dropped your temps by 5 degrees? That sounds almost too good to be true, @margaretf40. I've been building PCs for years and I always thought those extra few degrees were mostly a myth from the forum hype. Maybe I need to look closer at how my own rats nest of wiring is sitting against the PSU shroud, because I've got a similar setup and my CPU cooler is definitely working harder than it should be. I might have to try those velcro straps you mentioned and see if I notice a real difference in my system's noise under load.
