Just realized my cheap fan setup was choking my GPU for months
I built this rig back in March and used these $8 case fans I found on clearance at Micro Center in Denver. Thought I was being smart saving money since they moved air fine when I held them. But last week I noticed my 3070 was hitting 85 degrees under load and I couldn't figure out why. My buddy Dave came over and pointed out my front intake fans were barely pushing any air through the radiator because the blades were too small and the static pressure was garbage. Swapped them out for a pair of Arctic fans I got for $15 each and my temps dropped 12 degrees instantly. Made me wonder how many other people are running bad fans just because they spin up and look fine. Has anyone else dealt with this or am I the only one who ignored fan specs for way too long?

Yeah the static pressure rating is way more important than people realize. I learned that the hard way too.

Man it's like that with everything now. People chase the big fancy number and ignore the boring stuff that actually matters.
