I finally stopped using zip ties for cable management
I used to zip tie every cable in my builds tight against the case frame. Looked clean but man, anytime I had to swap a part I was cutting ties and starting over. About 6 months ago I switched to Velcro straps for everything. It adds maybe 10 minutes to the build but saves so much hassle later. My airflow actually improved too since I'm not crushing cables against the panel. Has anyone else made the switch or do you still prefer zip ties for certain spots?

Oh man, the "swap a part and cut ties" thing is SO real. I used to do the EXACT same thing, tight against the frame too, and every upgrade felt like I was starting from scratch with those little plastic razors. Velcro changed my whole cable game, I just loop them loosely now and it's been a lifesaver for swapping out fans or drives.

Wait, I gotta jump in here real quick because I see this a lot and people get it wrong. Velcro straps are great but you still want to leave a little bit of tension, not just loop them loosely. If they're too loose, the cables can sag and block airflow or get caught in a fan blade, which is way worse than a zip tie situation. I learned that the hard way when a loose SATA cable got shredded by a GPU fan. Tight enough so they stay put but loose enough you can slide a finger between the strap and the cable bundle. You feel me on that?
