Why does nobody talk about how dad jokes used to be a whole dinner table thing?
My dad had a spiral notebook where he wrote down every joke he heard at work, and by 1994 he had 212 of them, all numbered. Every Sunday dinner my sister and I had to pick a number and he would read it out loud, no matter how bad it was, and my mom would rate each one on a scale of 1 to 10 groans. Now I just scroll this forum alone on my couch and it feels weirdly quiet. Does anyone else remember a parent actually keeping a written stash like that, or was my dad just a special kind of nerd?
