Why does nobody talk about password managers versus the 'system' method?
For three years I used a complex personal system to create and remember passwords, writing them in a specific notebook. Last month, I finally tried a password manager after a friend in Portland insisted, and it cut my login time in half while catching two reused passwords I'd missed. Am I the only one who held out for so long against using one?

Honestly, is it just our weird pride in homemade systems that makes us avoid the obvious better tool?

Saw a dev talk once where they said homemade tools are just job security in disguise.
