Vent: I finally set up 2FA on my email after a scare, and the app beat the text code by a mile
Last Monday I got a login alert from a city 400 miles away and my stomach just sank. I had been using text message codes for years because it felt easy, but a friend who works IT kept bugging me to switch to an app. So I set up an authenticator app on my phone and wow, the difference is night and day. The text codes took forever to show up half the time, and I read that thieves can steal your phone number and grab those codes. With the app the codes change every 30 seconds and never leave my device. If you are still on text codes, what is holding you back from making the switch?
