Vent: Dropped $150 on a password manager that locked me out

I thought the fancy $150/year password manager with all the bells would be worth it, but after a week it glitched and wouldn't accept my master password. Took three days to get support to unlock my vault, which totally screwed my work logins. Anyone else get burned by a premium tool that just caused headaches?

$150 a year for a password manager is kind of steep. Most of the good ones are like $30 to $50 bucks a year and work fine. You probably paid for a bunch of extra features you didn't actually need. The real problem here is that you got locked out, which is the one thing a password manager should never do. It kind of defeats the whole purpose if you can't get to your passwords when you actually need them.

Keep a local backup of your password vault as a CSV file on a USB drive hidden somewhere safe. Learned that one the hard way after a similar incident.
