Switched from password managers to a hardware key after a close call

I used to think any password manager was good enough until my LastPass account got flagged for unusual login attempts last month. Has anyone else made the switch to a YubiKey or similar and found it way more solid?

Yeah it's funny you say that @miles_grant35 because I had almost the same thing happen with Bitwarden - got a weird login alert from a country I've never been to. Switched to a YubiKey right after and honestly the peace of mind is worth the upfront cost. I keep my banking and email on the key and everything else in a manager with a strong master password. The trick is to buy two keys at once so you have a backup if you lose the first one, learned that the hard way.

Switched to a YubiKey after my Bitwarden account got hit with a phishing attempt last year. Honestly it's been a game changer for me. I just plug it in when I need to log into important stuff like email and banking, and the rest of my passwords are still in a manager but with way less risk. The physical key part makes me feel a lot safer since there's no way to hack it remotely. I sleep better knowing my main accounts have that extra layer now.
