Password manager almost got me hacked last Tuesday

I was using a free password manager for like 3 years and thought I was being all secure. Then I noticed one day it was syncing my passwords to a public cloud server without telling me. A buddy in my IT meetup group pointed it out when he saw the traffic logs on my phone. Now I check every single app's data settings before I install it. Has anyone else caught their "secure" apps doing shady stuff in the background?

Oh man, I feel for you so much. Losing access to something like that is such a pain, especially when you've got everything saved in there. I had a similar scare with a free password manager a while back where they changed their terms and locked me out for two weeks. It was terrifying honestly, like I suddenly realized how much of my digital life was just gone. I hope you find a way to get back in or at least recover what you can. That kind of stress is just the worst.
