Got hit by a ransomware attack at my small shop last Tuesday

I run a small print shop in Omaha, and last Tuesday someone clicked a link in a fake invoice email. Locked all 12 of our fileservers and wanted $800 in Bitcoin to unlock them. I lost 3 days of customer orders and had to pay a recovery guy $1200 to restore from backups. Has anyone else dealt with a ransomware demand this year?

Backups saved you, that's the only real way out of this mess.

Man that's rough, I feel for you. Getting hit with ransomware like that is a nightmare especially when you're a small shop and every day of lost work cuts into your bottom line. I've seen a few posts about similar attacks this year and it seems like the fake invoice email is getting more common, at least the backup plan saved you from paying the crooks.
