Friend of a friend swore by password managers, but my dad's old method of sticky notes never failed him once in 30 years
I was at a BBQ in Austin last summer and this IT guy kept saying my dad's sticky note system was a security nightmare waiting to happen, but the dude had his whole digital life locked inside one app that got breached twice last year. Which side do you lean on when you've seen both work and fail firsthand?

Walked into my uncle's home office once and saw his entire life on a dry erase board above his monitor - every password, every account, right there in blue ink. He worked for a major defense contractor for 32 years and never had a single breach. Meanwhile my boss at the time kept all his stuff in a cloud document he swore was encrypted and got hit by a ransomware attack that locked him out of everything for two weeks. The IT forensics guy said the sticky note people usually get messed up by a house fire or a nosy roommate, not by anyone actually hacking them. Seems like the danger is different for each system, just depends on what kind of bad luck you're more afraid of.

My cousin had his phone stolen with a password manager app and they drained his bank account in 20 minutes @spencer_ross.
