Coffee shop WiFi scare changed how I handle public networks
I was at a local Starbucks last Tuesday editing some invoices when my laptop popped up a weird certificate error I had never seen before. The barista told me they had a guest router breach three months back that nobody talked about, and that got me digging into how easy it is to spoof those login pages. Do you guys trust hotel lobbies and cafes if they don't have a password gate?

You said "sounds like a lot of worry over nothing" but have you actually seen how easy it is to clone a Starbucks login page? It takes like 10 minutes with the right tools. Do you ever check the actual URL or certificate before you type in a password on these guest networks?
