Took 4 hours to find out my sleeper PC was crashing because of an old PSU cable

Honestly swapped a 4090 into a old Dell Optiplex case and spent way too long blaming the motherboard until I swapped the ATX cable - turned out the 12V pin was slightly corroded. Has anyone else had a janky cable eat up their afternoon like that?

Oh man, I spent a whole Saturday chasing a ghost in my build only to realize I'd been using a GPU power cable from 2009 that had a melted pin I somehow missed. I had the case open like five times, swapped RAM, reseated the CPU cooler, the whole nine yards. Felt like a real clown when I finally swapped that janky cable and it booted first try. I swear old PSU cables are the gremlins of the PC world.

Bet you didn't need a degree to feel like the biggest idiot in the world that day, huh?
