Nearly ruined my sleeper build by picking a PSU that didn't fit
I was torn between a modular PSU for cable management or a non-modular one that fit in my old Dell Optiplex case. Went with the non-modular and it took me 2 hours of shoving cables into a 3.5 inch drive bay to get the side panel on. Anybody else deal with PSU clearance issues in these old cases?

Honestly I gotta disagree with you here. Modular PSUs are overrated anyway and you made the right call. People act like cable management is life or death but once that side panel is on nobody sees it. Ngl I've built in three old Optiplex cases and every time I just jammed the extra cables into the drive bay like you did. Works fine, temps are fine, zero issues. Tbh the peace of mind from knowing the PSU actually fits without forcing it is way more important than having pretty looking cables inside a metal box. Plus you saved money on the modular premium which is always a win in my book.

@holly_gonzalez61 I get what you're saying but I gotta disagree. Modular isn't overrated when you're doing a small build and don't want a rats nest of cables blocking airflow. Just jamming them in works but it makes future swaps way more annoying.
