My old Dell Optiplex case just gave out after 12 years of faithful service (the plastic front panel cracked right down the middle).

I was trying to cram a new 140mm fan into my trusty 2008 Optiplex 755 sleeper build last week and the entire front bezel split in half, so now I'm hunting eBay for a replacement chassis that doesn't cost more than the PC itself - anyone found a decent donor case under $30?

Tbh that $50 price tag is ridiculous but I get why they ask it. My buddy Dave tried the same thing last month with his old Optiplex and the whole front panel just crumbled in his hands. He messaged @matthewperry about it and ended up finding a guy on OfferUp selling a whole 7010 for $25 because the hard drive died. Dave just swapped his parts over and trashed the donor case. Ngl it's a pain but hitting up local recyclers or Facebook Marketplace usually beats eBay for this kind of thing. The trick is searching for "broken" or "for parts" listings since people just want to dump the whole unit cheap.

eBay sellers want $50 for that busted plastic nightmare.
