Found an old Gateway 2000 tower at a thrift shop for $15 last Saturday

So I'm browsing this thrift store in Akron, you know the kind with that weird musty smell, and I spot this beige monstrosity sitting in the corner. Gateway 2000 case, complete with that cow pattern side panel (still intact!). Guy wanted $15 for it. I stuffed a Ryzen 5 and an RTX 3060 inside over the weekend. Had to dremel out the old drive cage and drill new standoff holes (my poor back). Booted right up though. The look on my friend's face when I told him it has 32GB of RAM was priceless. Anyone else ever find a case that old for cheap and make it work?

Oh look at you, stuffing a Ryzen 5 and an RTX 3060 into a cow-themed case from the 90s. That's like putting a Ferrari engine in a rusted-out Geo Metro. I love it." But seriously, drilling new standoff holes in a thrift store find sounds like a recipe for a backache and maybe some tetanus. I got a similar idea once, dug an old Dell from the curb, then spent three hours cutting out a proprietary power button. That cow pattern is genuinely impressive that it survived though.

Picked up an old beige Compaq from a garage sale once, spent a whole weekend trying to fit a modern power supply into it. Ended up having to grind down the drive cage with a Dremel and cover the gap with duct tape. @charlie_lane85 would probably see that and say it's the same energy as the cow case, just with less style. Cow print is a solid choice though, beats my boring beige.
