Found a 90s Compaq case at a thrift shop in Tulsa for $8
I was digging through bins at a Goodwill last weekend and spotted this beige beast sitting under a pile of old printers. It still has the original front panel badges and drive bay covers, but the inside is completely gutted. Has anyone turned one of these old Compaq Presario cases into a sleeper before?

I actually read a blog post last year where a guy gutted an old Compaq and stuffed a modern Ryzen build in there. He had to do some serious dremel work on the back panel to fit the I/O shield and PSU, but it turned out wicked. The main headache he ran into was airflow since those old cases have like zero ventilation compared to modern ones. He ended up cutting a spot for a mesh panel on the side and hiding it with a magnetic dust filter. For $8 it's a steal if you're patient with the modding, just be ready to get creative with the mounting points.

Did you watch the LTT video where they did something similar with an old Dell? Ngl, I tried a retro case build once and ended up spending more time cutting holes than actually building the PC.
