Buddy at a LAN party pointed out my sleeper build was too clean
He said the shiny new USB ports on the front gave it away immediately. Now I swap in yellowed vintage ports from a donor case, fools everyone at a glance. Anyone else got tips for keeping the exterior fully period correct?

Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me people are actually checking the USB ports? That's wild. I never thought about that. I've just been swapping out the power LED for an amber one from an old Dell.

Wait, what's wrong with checking the USB ports first @evanfox? I actually found that was the REAL culprit on my old build - some faulty solder joints on the header. Swapping LEDs is cool but you're just masking the issue if the ports themselves are fried. I'd rather spend 20 minutes with a multimeter than waste time on cosmetic stuff that doesn't fix the actual problem.
