Spent 3 hours on hold with a cruise line just to fix a name typo
Booked a 7 night Caribbean cruise out of Miami for my wife and me back in March, and I put her middle name as her first name by accident. Figured it was a 5 minute phone call, nope. Sat on hold for 2 hours and 47 minutes, got transferred twice, and the rep told me they had to cancel and rebook the whole thing at the current rate. Ended up costing an extra $340 for a stupid mistake I could have fixed in 30 seconds if their site worked right. Why do cruise lines make simple changes so painful? Anyone else get hit with a rebooking fee over a tiny error like this?
Had a buddy deal with the same thing on Royal Caribbean last year, one letter off on his kid's name and they wanted to cancel and rebook the whole cabin. He ended up just eating the fee because fighting it wasn't worth the phone time. Their whole system is built so the easy fix costs you the most money.
