Paid $300 for private island excursion, got a sandbar with seagulls

Booked a private island stop through the cruise line in the Bahamas last month and it turned out to be a tiny sandbar with one rusty umbrella and aggressive seagulls stealing sandwiches. The photos online showed a lush beach with cabanas, but the actual spot was maybe 50 feet across and we had to wade through seaweed to get off the tender. Has anyone else had a shore excursion that looked amazing online but turned out totally different in person, and how did you handle the refund fight with the cruise line?

50 feet across? That's not an island, that's a big towel. I paid for a "secluded beach getaway" in Cozumel once and they dropped us at a strip of sand next to a busy road. You could hear cars honking the whole time. The cabanas in the pictures were just rotted wood frames with no tops. Cruise lines know exactly what they're selling and they bank on you not fighting it once you're back home. Take photos of everything next time and dispute it on your card, that worked for me when the shore desk gave me the runaround.
