Meltdown in the MDR on formal night, solved it with a napkin
Second night on a 7-day Alaska cruise out of Seattle, and my wife's tiara fell into the lobster bisque. The waiter was great, comped the table a bottle of wine, but I spent 20 minutes drying off the tiara with a cloth napkin while she laughed. Anyone else have a dinner disaster turn into a funny story on board?
Happened to have a spaghetti night go sideways on a cruise once, but it wasn't a tiara... my buddy's toupee slid right off into the marinara when he leaned over for the bread basket. He didn't even notice for a minute, just kept chewing while the thing floated there like a sad, hairy crouton. The waiter was trying so hard not to laugh, he dropped a whole plate of garlic knots. We ended up naming that toupee "Alfredo" and it became the ship's inside joke for the rest of the trip. Every night at dinner, someone would ask if Alfredo was joining us. My buddy played along, said he was in the laundry. Sometimes the mess is the best part of the story, you know?
