Unpopular opinion: my worst prompt got me 3 pages of story instead of the usual paragraph
I typed "a lighthouse keeper who is afraid of the dark" at 2am on a Thursday and expected nothing, but it turned into the longest scene I've written in months. What's the dumbest one-liner prompt that somehow turned into your best work?
idk man, one good night doesn't really prove anything. Maybe the prompt just hit different because you were tired and your brain stopped overthinking it. I've had random stuff like "a guy who can't remember his own name" turn into two pages, but then the next ten prompts got me a single boring paragraph each. That's not the prompt being magic, that's just how writing goes sometimes. Feels more like luck than some secret trick, you know?
