Ever wonder if the chaos is actually useful? Like @rodriguez.linda said, that mess of a first draft has everything you need, just in the wrong order. My pages are full of notes in brackets that say "fix this later" and dialogue with no speaker tags. It's not writing, it's just getting the broken pieces out of your head so you can start building something.
