That simple writing prompt about a locked room took me 8 days to finish

I thought i'd bang it out in one sitting like usual but the twist kept falling apart every time i re-read it. Anyone else get stuck on what seems like an easy prompt for way longer than makes sense?

right? i did one about a guy stuck in a parking garage and spent a whole week rewriting the ending because i couldn't figure out why he didn't just take the stairs. ended up making the elevator broken and the stairs locked, but then i realized that's basically just a bad horror movie plot. my own logic kept catching me off guard, like bro this is YOUR story how do YOU not know the answer. it's embarrassing but i guess that's just how these writing traps work sometimes.
