Paid $250 for a "premium" writing prompt generator and it was a scam

I dropped $250 on PromptForge Pro last month thinking it would give me endless unique ideas. All it did was spit out the same basic fantasy tropes like 'orphan discovers magic' over and over. I got better results from a free Reddit thread in r/WritingPrompts. Has anyone else tried those paid prompt tools and found one that actually works?

Wait are people actually paying $250 for writing prompts? I mean I get that brainstorming can be a pain (trust me I've stared at a blank page more times than I care to admit) but there's like a million free generators out there that do the same thing. The only tool I ever paid for was a name generator and even that felt like a waste after I found a free one that worked better. Honestly just grab a random Wikipedia article and smash two unrelated topics together, you'll get more original ideas than some overpriced fantasy trope machine.
