Just walked through the old train yard in Cleveland and saw something wild
There was a single, bright red door just leaning against a rusted boxcar with a padlock on it that looked brand new. It made me think of a million story ideas about what it was for or who left it there. What's the weirdest real object you've seen that sparked a whole prompt for you?

Ever read about that giant concrete arrow in the Utah desert? It was for old airmail navigation. Something about finding a random, purposeful object in the middle of nowhere really gets the imagination going. That door sounds like one of those finds.

Yeah that thing about a "purposeful object in the middle of nowhere" hits different now. I used to see old stuff like that and just think it was junk, like why is this here. But learning the story behind it, like your airmail arrow, totally flips it. It stops being trash and becomes a clue. Now I look at things and wonder what problem someone was trying to solve, and it makes the whole place feel layered.
