Just realized my writing prompt crowd sourced my own story back to me
I posted a prompt last week about a librarian finding a hidden message in a returned book. Two days later someone commented on it with a 300 word story that used almost the exact same scenario from my own life. They took the specifics I pulled from a visit to the Seattle Public Library last June and turned it into their own piece. Has anyone else had a prompt you wrote get recycled back at you like that?

Doesn't it feel like everything we put out there just bounces back at us in a slightly different shape, like a weird game of telephone where nobody remembers who started it?

Last year I'd have argued but honestly yeah that hits different now.
