I wrote 30 opening lines using only objects on my desk and the third one actually worked
Tried a prompt exercise last Tuesday where I could not describe any person or feeling for the first sentence, just stuff within arm's reach, and line 3 about a dead houseplant turned into a whole short story by Friday. The weird part is it forced me to stop starting every piece with someone's mood, which is apparently my crutch. Anyone got a constraint like that which actually unstuck them?
