Can we talk about using 'writing sprints'? I thought it was just a fad.

I was stuck on a chapter for weeks, but a friend convinced me to try a 15 minute sprint over video chat. I wrote 500 words without overthinking and it broke the block completely. Has anyone else found a specific method that seemed silly but actually works?

Overthinking" is the real enemy, not the method.

The writing sprint thing seemed dumb until I tried it and accidentally wrote 800 words about a character eating cereal. @cole_bailey85 is right, overthinking is the real monster here. Pomodoro timer works too, but only if you use the break time to stare at a wall instead of checking your phone. Still refuse to call it a sprint though, makes me feel like I'm in gym class.

Honestly thought the pomodoro timer thing was just for people who like kitchen gadgets. Tried it out of desperation last month and now my novel is actually moving forward.
