Watching a crew in Tampa try to set a 12-ton AC unit with a slack tagline.
The load started to spin because they had too much slack, and it almost hit a scaffold. I learned the hard way years ago that a tight tagline is the only way to control rotation on a big pick. How do you guys train new hands on tagline basics?

Hey @johns18, but you gotta keep two hands on that line, not just feel the pull!

Wait... you actually let greenhorns handle the line themselves?

Yeah, that "tight tagline" thing is key. I make new guys hold the line themselves on a light load so they feel how it pulls when it starts to turn.
