Walking around the site is my real warm-up, not stretches
Everyone on my crew swears by those pre-shift stretches to stay loose and avoid injuries. I tried it for weeks, and it just made my knees feel janky and my focus fuzzy. Instead, I spend those minutes walking a full lap around the crane and the pick area, looking for soft ground or debris. That slow walk wakes me up and lets me spot problems before I even start the engine. Last Tuesday, I caught a frayed tagline during my walk that everyone else missed. So I'm sticking with what keeps my head clear and my lifts smooth, even if it goes against the grain. Maybe some bodies just work different.

See, I'm the opposite - gotta stretch this old back first.

So what's the actual routine for that, like five minutes of careful bends or just a quick reach for the ceiling? Always wondered if people with that habit picked it up after a specific injury or if it's just general maintenance. My back only complains after I've been still for too long.
