Update: my swing stayed dead on after I started greasing the slew ring every 50 hours
Ran a 60 ton for 3 years and always dealt with a little slop in the swing. Nothing scary, just enough that I'd drift a few inches when I came off the stick. Figured it was just wear on an older machine. Then a retired operator named Ray at the yard in Baton Rouge asked when I last greased the slew ring. I said whenever the dealer did service. He laughed and said do it yourself every 50 hours. Started doing that back in February. Six months later the drift is basically gone. Same machine, same pins, same everything. I was shocked it made that much difference. Anyone else grease their own ring or do you let the shop handle it? Curious what interval you all run.
