TIL the $180 wireless wind speed kit I bought was junk compared to a $25 handheld
Last month I picked up one of those wireless anemometers that clips to a hard hat, thinking it would save me from guessing at the boom tip, and it read 4 mph low in a side wind on a 120 foot pick. The sensor crapped out after 3 weeks and no warranty since I bought it from a guy on marketplace, so I ate the $180. Anybody else burned by cheap wind gear, and what are you actually running that holds up?

$180 marketplace gadgets always flake, same as cheap phone chargers.
