TIL a load chart in my head beats the one in the cab when the ground crew is rushing me
Last Tuesday at a jobsite in Fresno, the crew was waving me to swing a 6,800 lb panel while I was still set up on outriggers over a soft spot near a drainage trench. Everyone on the ground kept saying the chart on my screen cleared it, but I killed the swing and walked the mats myself, and sure enough the near side was sitting 4 inches into mud. I told the foreman I wasn't lifting until we repositioned, which cost us about 40 minutes and got me a few dirty looks. Has anyone else had a crew push a lift that the chart said was fine but the ground said otherwise?
