Riggers keep using 3 wraps on the load line and I finally said something
I have watched four different riggers in the last couple months wrap the load line three times around the hook before a pick, and every one of them said it was for grip. That is a myth. Two wraps is the standard for most loads up to 15 tons, and the third wrap just adds time and can bind when you go to release. I brought it up with a guy at the yard in Bakersfield and he checked the book and agreed. Any of you run into younger hands picking this up from somewhere?
