Just read about the biggest mobile crane ever built for a job in Texas

Honestly, I was looking up specs for a project and saw that the Liebherr LR 13000, used at a site near Houston, can lift 3,000 tons. That's like 600 elephants. I had no idea we had machines that big working over here. Has anyone ever seen one of those monsters in person, or know what kind of job actually needs that much lift?

Wow, I always thought those big cranes were just for ships.

Man, reading that makes me feel like my idea of a heavy lift is struggling with a new couch up the stairs. That's just a crazy amount of weight. I saw a picture of one of those things once and the scale is hard to get your head around, it's like a building that decided to move. I can't even imagine the planning for a job that needs it, probably putting up some giant refinery piece or something.
