A site safety guy made me rethink my lift plan setup
I always set up my lattice crawler with the boom at a steep angle to clear obstacles fast. Then a safety guy I respect said I was risking instability because my ground bearing pressure was too high on one side. He showed me the numbers on a lift I did last month and I was surprised how off I was. Now I always spread the outriggers wider and take the extra 10 minutes to level the pad. Any of you guys ever get a tip from a safety guy that actually helped your job?

That cribbing trick keeps me from denting blacktop too.

nah i dunno, all those extra boards and wedges just make a bigger mess to clean up. i'd rather just throw down a scrap piece of plywood and be done with it. cribbing feels like overthinking a simple job.
