A foreman in Phoenix told me I was choking my boom hoist by running it too fast on short lifts

He showed me how easing off the lever gave me way more control and less sway. Any of you guys drop speed for better precision on tight jobs?

My buddy runs a crew over in Tucson and he told me the same thing after he nearly dropped a bundle of rebar. He said slowing down the hoist on those tight picks made his jobs go way smoother and saved his guys from a headache.

Ain't that the truth, slow is smooth and smooth is fast, right? Funny how we always think we gotta rush when it's the opposite that keeps us from having a really bad day. So basically your buddy learned the hard way that rebar doesn't care about your schedule.
