Vent: my instructor drilled 'sanitize twice' into us and I finally get why after a client's scalp scare
I used to roll my eyes at the double sanitize rule, thought it was just overkill they pushed at the school in Mesa. Then a regular came in with a red, itchy scalp patch and my boss asked what I used on the last client who sat in that chair. I had wiped the clippers with a spray and moved on, thinking that was enough. Turns out the spray sat for maybe 10 seconds before I used them again, and the bottle says 10 minutes minimum wet contact. I now keep two sets of clippers and rotate them so one always sits wet while I cut. The patch cleared up and the client never knew, but that could have been a ringworm situation. How do you all handle the wet contact time when you are back to back on a busy Saturday?
