Tried a new way to section hair for a pixie cut today

Always used a standard grid pattern, but my mentor in Tampa showed me her radial method. The graduation and texture came out way cleaner in half the time. Do you all have a go-to sectioning technique for short styles?

What exactly is the radial method? Like starting from the crown?

Wait, is this about cutting hair or defusing a bomb? I see people talk about the radial method like it's some huge secret, but it's just parting hair in sections from the middle out. Sure, you start at the crown, but it's not that deep. It's a basic way to organize hair for coloring or cutting, not brain surgery. Honestly, the way some folks explain it makes a simple idea sound way more serious than it needs to be.

Oh come on, "it's just parting hair in sections from the middle out"? Tell me you've never actually done a radial sectioning on a real client without telling me. There's a big difference between a basic center part fan and actually following the curve of the head so the hair falls naturally. If you just eyeball it from the crown outward, you'll end up with uneven lengths and weird triangles. I tried it on a thick head of hair last week, and the difference in how the graduation sat was night and day compared to a quick fan part.
