Tried a new toner mix on my sister and got a completely different shade than I expected

Ngl I was nervous about trying a new toner mix on my sister last Saturday. I used a 9.1 with a splash of 8.2 instead of my usual 9.0, and her hair came out a soft lavender instead of the cool ash I was aiming for. She actually loved it way more than the ash look, so I guess I learned to trust the process with unexpected combos. Has anyone else had a toner experiment turn out totally different but better?

That 9.1 with 8.2 splash is a gamble for sure, I've seen blue based toners pull wild colors when you mix them wrong. Nine times out of ten that lavender fading is gonna look muddy in a week or two though. Glad she's happy now but I'd keep an eye on it before calling it a win.

Add some purple shampoo to your conditioner, evens out the fade.
