Tried a 'glass hair' gloss treatment on a client with fine hair and it went limp.
I used the Olaplex No.8 mask for the shine, but it weighed everything down after two days. Anyone have a good gloss alternative for thin hair that actually holds up?

My friend had the same exact problem with her fine hair. She tried that viral glass hair trend last month and it looked amazing for about a day. The heavy gloss she used just sucked all the life out of it, leaving it flat and greasy. She ended up switching to a much lighter, clear glaze from a salon brand. It gave her that shiny finish without any of the weight, and it actually lasted a full week before fading. She said it was all about finding a formula made specifically for fine or thin hair types.

Ugh, that reminds me of when I tried a super thick hair mask that was all over social media. My hair felt like I dunked it in cooking oil for three days straight. I had to wash it like four times just to get it back to normal. Now I just use a tiny bit of regular conditioner and it works way better. Some of that viral stuff is such a trap for fine hair.

Gotta be honest, that "clear glaze from a salon brand" might still be too heavy for fine hair. Most salon glazes have silicones that build up fast and weigh fine strands down by day two or three. A lightweight leave-in spray or a drop of argan oil rubbed between your palms actually gives the same shine without that greasy rebound.
