That one appointment last Wednesday saved my whole slow week
I had three cancellations in a row last Tuesday and was really stressing about making rent on my booth. Then Wednesday morning a bride walked in for a color correction from a box dye disaster she did herself. She had this orangey brassy mess from the drugstore stuff, and I spent 4 hours doing a double process with foils and a toner. When I finally rinsed it out and showed her the mirror, she actually started crying happy tears. She hugged me and said she felt like herself again and gave me a $50 tip on top of the service. That one appointment made up for the whole slow week and reminded me why I got into this trade.

Saw a stylist fix a perm disaster and the client tipped her with homemade tamales.

Homemade tamales as a tip is actually a huge win! One time I brought my stylist a batch of my grandma's cookies and she literally hugged me.
