Talking to a friend who does hair in Denver made me see color correction in a new way
She told me she never uses a full 40 volume developer on corrective work anymore, even for big lifts. She said, 'I'd rather do two sessions with 20 volume than fry the cuticle trying to fix it in one.' That really stuck with me because I was always taught to go strong and fast. Has anyone else switched to a gentler, slower method for color fixes?

Switched to that method last year and my clients' hair feels so much healthier now.

Oh wow, that's so good to hear! I was just reading an article about how that method can really help keep the natural oils in the hair instead of stripping them all away. It makes total sense that the hair would feel healthier and stronger over time. I love seeing stuff that actually works like that.

My cousin tried that same method for six months and her hair got so greasy and limp she had to go back to regular shampoo. I wonder if the results really depend on your hair type or water hardness. @sean_murray can you tell me if you're only seeing this work with certain clients?
