Switched to sectioning by density instead of just grabbing random chunks 6 months ago and my blowouts have never been smoother

I used to just grab any hunk of hair and wrap it on the roller, but after a client complained about lumps last January I started mapping out thick vs thin zones first and now I get zero complaints, has anyone else tried the density method yet?

Have you found the density method works better on certain hair types or lengths than others? I’ve been thinking about trying it but I mostly work with fine hair and worry it might not do much.

Oh ABSOLUTELY I have strong feelings about this. Fine hair actually responds REALLY well to the density method in my experience because it gives you more control without weighing everything down. The trick is you gotta keep your sections smaller than you think and don't go too heavy on the product or it gets limp real fast. I'd say medium to short lengths work best because long fine hair just tangles up and you lose the effect. Honestly I think people with fine hair are the ONES who benefit most from this technique.
