Stopped by an old salon in Cleveland and noticed how much the shampoo bowls changed

I was visiting a friend at her aunt's place near Coventry last weekend, and they still had those old reclining shampoo bowls from the 90s. Made me realize how every new place I've worked at in the last 5 years uses those upright chairs with the neck rests instead. Does anyone else miss the old setup where you could actually lean all the way back and relax, or am I just being nostalgic about back pain?

Notice how everything's moving toward that "in and out" fast pace these days. The old reclining bowls let you zone out for a solid 10 minutes while the stylist worked, now you're in and out of that upright chair in half the time. It's like how diners replaced their cozy booths with wooden chairs that aren't comfortable past 20 minutes. Places want to turn over customers faster, which makes sense for business but kills the whole relaxing part of getting your hair done.
