Spent $85 on that new leave-in conditioner and it left my hair feeling like straw

I bought that expensive protein-based leave-in spray last week after seeing five influencers rave about it, and my fine hair feels stiff and dry. Anyone else fall for a product that totally backfired on your clients?

saw five influencers rave about it" ugh story of my life lol. i read that protein overload can make fine hair feel exactly like that, stiff and straw-like, because too much protein builds up and blocks moisture. hope your hair bounces back soon, that sucks for $85.

Heard a hair stylist say that fine hair basically acts like a sponge with protein. It soaks it up until it gets oversaturated and then just rejects everything else. That's probably why your hair felt like straw, the moisture couldn't get through. Clarifying shampoo might help strip some of that buildup out.
