Pulled a 12 hour shift last Saturday and it turned into my favorite day of the year

A bridal party of 8 showed up 30 minutes late for their 9 AM appointments and I was dreading it but they tipped me $400 total and were so chill about everything that I actually had fun doing updos and even squeezed in a quick scalp massage for the maid of honor who was in tears over her mom's flight being delayed, has anyone else had a crazy good day come out of a rough start?

Piggybacking off what @the_val said, I think the real secret is when a group shows up already stressed and then decides to just roll with it instead of getting worse. That combo of mutual chaos and good vibes turns a headache into the best shift of the year.

Last summer I had a 7 AM group of 10 bridesmaids who all showed up hungover and grumpy, but they ended up ordering me pizza and tipping over $500 by noon. Sometimes a rough start with a group that's actually grateful can flip the whole mood because they're not taking themselves too seriously. Makes you wonder if the worst-looking shifts are really the best ones in disguise, right?
